How I grow my work

In the beginning there’s the curl
of the sea wave
and rooted at the undertow
the line grows from its initial inception
taking cues from what it
sees first, feels next
static touching
and fairies imagined,
cacophony within earshot

And then and only then
with a rollickingly teeheehee
it cajoles its way with such gusto!
On the line: the leveler,
the balancer
The center

Embellishments lay
where they land
punctuating each saga with
an anecdote from here
found pieces and pins from there

Then
at last the line rests
spent from its climb
from side to side
to the edge of the trees
to the edge of the world
satisfied in knowing that
what’s on the line is
keeping safe
what’s inside
